53 weeks to race day: base season

Plenty of runway. This far out, the win is a boring, consistent base rhythm: aerobic volume, strength, technique. The structured block starts closer in; what you do now decides how high it can climb.

R
Recover
Fix the nervous system first. Sleep, HRV, and the noise out.
A
Align
Fit the plan to your actual life, not the one you wish you had.
C
Condition
Minimum effective dose. The right sessions, done fresh.
E
Execute
Race-week protocol, pacing, contingency. Nothing new on race day.

Building for this one? T100 training support cover the sessions, the weekly shape and how the block is paced. The R.A.C.E. Framework explains why it is built that way.

Road to Race

Build my complete road.

Commit to the date and the work gets a shape: your countdown starts, the emails arrive in step with your build, and the app anchors a recovery-led block so the final week lands exactly on race day.

One confirmation email, then the road begins. Registering for the race itself stays with the organiser.

Already have the app, or want it? The app takes this race and builds the block around it.
Abraham Spring, founder of Unbroken

“Our home race. Flat everything, closed roads, transition inside ExCeL, and the world's best racing the same water the same weekend. If you want a PB course, this is it.”

The race

The T100 weekend has absorbed the old London Triathlon and turned the Royal Docks into the biggest city-centre triathlon on earth, delivered by London Marathon Events. Age-groupers pick Sprint, Olympic or the 100km format (2km swim, 80km bike, 18km run) that the pro tour races on the same closed course the same weekend. The dock swim is sheltered and warm by UK standards, the bike is flat closed dual carriageway where you can hold aero and just ride, and transition lives inside ExCeL. For Unbroken athletes this is the home fixture: no travel, no logistics, all execution.

The course

No course maps for this race. T100 publishes no downloadable route for any leg of this race, so there is nothing to draw a course map from. Everything below comes from the official course page, checked on the date at the foot of this section.

Swim2 km
Lap count not published

Royal Victoria Dock, enclosed and sheltered, so this is about as controlled as open water gets in London. The T100 swims 2km, the Olympic 1.5km, the Sprint 750m and the Super Sprint 400m.

Bike80 km
Lap count not published

80km for the T100, which is the same distance the professionals race on the T100 World Tour. Olympic rides 40km, Sprint 20km, Super Sprint 10km.

Run18 km
Lap count not published

18km for the T100, three kilometres short of a half marathon and long enough that pacing it as a 10k is a mistake. Olympic runs 10km, Sprint 5km, Super Sprint 2.5km.

Not yet confirmed for this edition: lap counts, elevation gain, cut-off times, water temperature, transition locations. We publish these only once they are on the official course page, so check there before you pace off anything here.

Questions, answered

When is London T100 Triathlon Weekend 2027?

London T100 Triathlon Weekend takes place on 21 – 22 August 2027.

What distances can I race at London T100 Triathlon Weekend?

Sprint · Olympic · 100km (2-80-18). Pick the distance that fits your training runway, not your ego: the right distance is the one you can arrive at fresh.

How hard is the course?

Road terrain, flat profile with around 120m of climbing. Fast, honest course

What is the swim like?

Royal Victoria Dock, sheltered and calm. Wetsuit-legal, usually 17–20°C. Practise open water before race week, not during it.

How long do I need to train for it?

Race day is 21 – 22 August 2027. For T100's 2 km swim, 80 km bike and 18 km run, a proper recovery-led build wants about 12 weeks, which means starting around 29 May 2027. Later starts still work: the block compresses honestly rather than pretending, and it always anchors to the exact race date.

Race Week Is Where People Unravel.

Eleven months of good work, then seven days of panic. Almost everything that goes wrong in race week is somebody trying to help themselves.
